Let Love Guide Your Way To Financial Freedom

Let love be your guide...

Look to your right.

Now look to your left.

Look up above you.

Now look under your desk.

Look all around everywhere you can see.

That is where you’ll find opportunity.

I guess I am feeling a bit poetic this Friday.  My company just finished another great commercial yesterday.  For all of those relatively new to YinvsYang, I will fill you in.  A little over 6 months ago (wow, time flies), my partner and I started this blog to mark a big change in our lives.  We had just started a New Media production company Reimagine, and soon after began writing.

A Refreshing Thought: The Sky is Not the Limit

The world is but a small part of an endless universe.

I was driving home this morning from getting breakfast, when I had this really powerful thought.  I could not believe the relief it provided.  It all started last night.  I stayed up a bit late and watched a movie called Sunshine, directed by Danny Boyle.  The movie is about a group of astronauts in the future who are on a mission to save Earth by rejuvenating the dying Sun.  It was loaded with mesmerizing visuals of the Sun and space (I watched it in Blu-ray so that helped).

The Power of the Samurai Spirit

Much can be learned from the way of the Samurai.

If you are not a fan of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), or the UFC, then you probably have never heard of Lyoto ‘the Dragon’ Machida.  However, you do not have to be a fan to appreciate his story.  He is a wonderful example of the unlimited power of the mind, and I learned a lot about the human spirit from the story of his life.  Here is a brief synopsis of his background from Wikipedia

Lyoto Carvalho Machida (born May 30, 1978) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial arts fighter. Son of a Japanese-Brazilian Shotokan Karate master Yoshizo Machida, Lyoto is a rising star in MMA. He is currently ranked as the #3 light heavyweight fighter in the world by Sherdog.

Tips on Tackling Tremendously Tough Challenges

How do you handle tough challenges?

Every Jiu Jitsu class starts out with warm-ups, then some drills, a few instructional lessons, more drills, and live sparring which is called ‘rolling’. Yesterday, right as we were about to roll, I was matched up with a 4-stripe White Belt. White belt is the initial belt in Jiu Jitsu. After that it goes blue, purple, brown, and finally black. There is only one ‘red’ belt that I know of, and that is the absolute highest you can go.

I am a purple belt, which is about 4 years worth of experience. This 4-stripe white belt is only about a year and 1/2 deep in his experience. However, he is pretty good for his level. I have taught classes where he has rolled considerably well against higher ranked opponents. We slapped hands and just as we are about to start rolling, he leans in and says….

3 Practical, Pertinent P’s to Success in Anything

Patience, Persistence and Perseverance are keys to success.

My family always taught me there are 3 major ingredients to success.  When I was younger I listened to the words, but they never seemed to sink in.  As I grew older, and life opened up to me, I realized these elements had a direct correlation to my success in anything I partook.

The definition of success can be different for everyone. The important part is that YOU and YOU alone are the judge of your success.  When you look in the mirror every morning, it is only you who knows if you are successful or not.  There are so many ways to be successful and even more ways to get there.  However, even with all these differences, it is the same three P’s that are needed on every journey.  No matter what your definition of personal success is, it is important to understand these elements if you want to see the big picture.

The Sacred Spirit All Mother’s Share

My mother sent me this amazing video the other day, and I thought I would share.  It features my favorite subjects, animals, and also carries a great message about the natural instinct deep inside every mother.

The video brightened up my day, and genuinely lifted my spirit.  I think we could all enjoy that on the verge of another wonderful weekend…

Is Controversy Overshadowing the 2008 Olympics?

Winning the gold is just the icing on the cake.

I can not say I have been paying close, close attention, but I have been intrigued by this year’s Olympics. Obviously, the Michael Phelps story and the entire Men’s swimming team was very inspirational, as were many of the celebrated winners. However, something about the 2008 Olympics continues to bother me. As records continue to be broken, and athletes surpass their predecessors in physical feats, it seems something is being left behind:

Sportsmanship.

What happened to honesty?  Sportsmanship?  Grace?  Class?  I am appalled at what the Olympics has become.  No longer is it a celebration of competition.  It is more a conspiracy breeding ground, where even when someone wins a gold medal, you have to wonder if they cheated.  Not only that, but you have numerous frustrated athletes, and their bitter supporters, defiantly disputing losses and the integrity of the games.   I have no problem with competitors naturally being upset or disappointed after a loss, but even if the result was questionable, isn’t it better to let the public speak rather than disrespect the entire competition?

The Beauty & Brilliance of the Blogging Universe

Blogging and reading blogs has helped me grow as a person.

Since I started writing for this blog, my first, I have learned so much from the blogging universe.  Blogging is a rather young industry, and I feel it is a symbol of the future of business.  It completely throws everything negative I was taught in school about how to run a business right out the window.  But, the true beauty of the blogger universe is found in what it represents.

Blogging is a mode of self expression.

It is a way to learn up to the date information from people all over the world in thousands of industries.  It is a way to communicate, learn, comment, share, and identify with others who think like you.  Most importantly, it is a door opener.  I can’t tell you enough about all of the wonderful people from different parts of the earth I have ‘met’ across the blogger universe.  We may have grown up in totally different environments, but somehow, some way, a simple blog has brought us together.

What Are You Looking Forward to?

My cat Winx.Every morning I take my cat Winx for a walk.  This may seem strange, as most people do not walk their cats, but my cat loves it.  I do not have a leash, or anything like that.  I have a patch of grass on the side of my house, and some wooded area behind it, that Winx loves to explore.  It is like he becomes a kitten every time we get to go outside. I simply take out my laptop, sit in the field, and let him roam free to do what cats do.

How Much Does the Afterlife Affect Your Life?

How much does the afterlife affect you?

Have you ever thought so much about life after death that you got to the point of internally debating whether or not to kill an annoying insect?  I mean, really thought about if it is wrong, or whether Karma, or God, or whatever will haunt you because of this action?  You want to do it, but you feel guilty.

Well, right in my garage, I have a fly that is annoying the hell out of me as I write.  I desperately want to smash it against the wall, but I just feel like taking any life is not right.  I mean it is only an insect.  It does not know any better.  Why should I be the judge of whether it lives or dies?
