@Chris
Thanks.

@Nathalie
Exactly. By pushing myself in training, it allows me to focus more in my everyday life. Ask anyone who knows me, and they will tell you I'm a different person when I don't train. My confidence is lower, my focus is blurry. It helps in so many ways.

Glad to see you are back in action with Tae Kwon Do!

This is great Peter! Pretty timely too, since I've recently started doing Tae Kwon Do again. It prompted a lot of questions about why I do it, and what my goals are with it.

It's good to know why you're doing it, since it really helps you to focus and do your best!

@Razor
Great point. It's guys like that which make training so much fun, in my opinion. I had a feeling I would see the return of the Razor on this post :)

I have always been amazed at how low-key Ric is, all the time. Most of the guys that you come across in the MMA world are very much A-type personalities. Not to say that Ric isn't an A-type, but there is this reserved personality that he has. He really is a Jekyl and Hyde between what you see him do in a ring and how he is outside of the ring. I always get a kick out of people who don't want to train with Ric or the other number of highly skilled students, merely because of their size or skill. I always tell those who feel that way, they don't know what they are missing. Training with people of that caliber is the best learning experience. There is no fear for it, as what is the point of a larger, more skilled student just submitting you in the blink of an eye. It is Ric's personality outside of the ring that makes him that much more likable inside the ring.
